34 x 26 mm cortical cyst in mid pole kidney

HI , Yesterday i took my mother's master health check up.

Age - 61 yrs

Left Kidney:
Measure 9.7 x 5.4 cms, normal size  site and echo texture. Cortico medullary differentiation maintained. Pelvicalyceal system not dilated. No calculi noted.

"Cortical cyst measuring -  34x 26 mm noted in the mid pole".

Kindly explain me in detailed as to know what does this mean and what should i do cure this.

Do you have a simple cyst or a complex cyst? Simple cysts in the kidney are a common occurrence and do not need any therapy. Simple kidney cysts may be monitored with periodic ultrasounds. Simple kidney cysts that are causing symptoms or blocking the flow of blood or urine through the kidney may need to be treated using a procedure called sclerotherapy. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. A complex kidney cyst may have irregularities within the walls of the cyst and/or within the contents of the cyst. A CT scan may be helpful in detecting whether the cyst is simple or complex. It is best to discuss all your queries with your doctor as he knows your case best. Do write to me again.
