Chronic pain, post-op ureteroscopic stone removal

I was diagnosed with a kidney stone and renal colic due to obstruction of the lower urinary tract - a small (3mm) stone was lodged in my left ureter blocking the flow of urine and causing severe, debilitating pain.  I carried this thing for a month, pain and all, (lost my job, too.) before treatment.  I have no medical insurance (this is the first time I have had a medical problem) and now, 6 months later, I am having similar symptoms with the exclusion of ut spasms.  In other words, I am having no difficulty controlling my bladder however my left abdomen and lower back are absolutely killing me.  I can't work, I can't sleep, and OTC pain medications do practically nothing.  I have a few narcotic pain relievers remaining from after the operation and have been taking them occasionally as needed.

I have an appointment with my urologist in two weeks - is there anything I should tell them?  Should I keep a pain diary, or make a journal of foods consumed?  I have absolutely avoided oxalate and have been taking citrate supplements, dehydration is not an issue, and I really can find no ready explanation for this aside from another stone, which at this point seems impossible.

Hi. You need to do 24 hour urines. Analyize the stone. How do you know the stone was oxalate? Mostly the stone will have 2 or 3 components not just 1 (oxalate). Heyyyyy NO stone is "small" NEVER EVER. I think you know what I mean. When you get 1 stone it is almost 100% you ILL get another. Is this your first stone?

So, I went to the urologist today and had CT done, I have no stones and my urinary tract is healthy.  I was referred to an orthopedist as the urologist saw that the lowest rib on my left side is in fact broken and unattached.  No wonder I'm hurting so badly.
