Creatine and BUN levels

My husband just had his valve replaced and his creatine levels are high as well as his BUN. His RBC is low. He had to stay in hospital an extra day because of his creatine. He is home now and had his blood work done with Cardiologist and it showed his creatine to be 1.57. His cardiac surgeon was concerned going into surgery about his right kidney because of his kidney function. He has had kidney stones in past and has had problems since with it. I'm hoping this is just due  to surgery since it was an 8 hour procedure. Any info about this would be helpful.

I understand your concern regarding this.  Higher than normal level  of creatinine may be attributed to a variety of issues such as blocked urinary tract, dehydration, muscle problems as well as kidney problems,  such as kidney damage or failure, infection, or reduced blood flow.
