groin/lowerside back pain

hi
i have this awful pain in my left groin and it travels round to the kidney area, it tends to flare up monthly.
the pain in the groin feels like burning and the back pain more like an ache, i have tested my urine and the only thing shshowing is protien but that is due to past nephritis, i was seen by gyne but all was normal.
this is going on a year now, can you help??

i have the exact same thing since aug of 07 after a miscarriage and was told possible ibs or gall bladder spassams but not likely since it's my left side, if you find anything out let me know plz i went to gyn and was told everything looked good as well

How are you? It is good that there is no gynecologic problems involved.This can be the result of the extensive network of interconnecting sensory nerves that supply many of the tissues of the low back, pelvis and thigh. An injury to any of these structures can cause pain to to be referred  to any of the other structures. This could also be Lumbago, which is defined as mild to severe pain or discomfort in the area of the lower back. This often occurs in younger people whose work involves physical effort and may also be due to a slipped disc, osteoporosis, scoliosis or rarely, skeletal damage due to tumors or infection. Symptoms may include: pain across the lower part of the back that sometimes radiates into the buttocks, the back of the thigh or to the groin. The pain is usually worse on movement. It would be good to see a back specialist for proper evaluation and to rule out pathologies involved in the back..
