Kidney Fucntion

My brother told me that  his doctor said his kidney was not functioning as well as it should for someone his age. He also has a touch of scoliosis. Some of his organs are compresses because of the curvature.

The doctor wants to do some test. What does this Mean? Is there something that can be done?  I am really concerned.

Thank you all.

I don't know any specifics. Just what I wrote.  You are correct, his doctor told him not to take ibuprofen, blood pressure meds, drink more water. He is having some more test run though.

well you're not giving us alot of info. Has he had a renal panel done with bloodwork? What is his GFR, creatine, etc? He needs to not take ibuprofen or any anti inflammatories as they are filtered through the kidneys...not good. I don't know if the scoliosis is affecting his kidneys tho. It could be his medications, diet, etc.
