kidney disease

Im a 31 year old mother. Ive got no job or insurance. I had to quit working last year due to heat stroke and kidney problems. Ive had repeated kidney infections(6-8) a year for 13 years now. I recently visited the ER yet again. My CT scan results shiw a small atrophic left kidney an enlarged right kidneyand the iliac artey has calcification. Also an enlarged liver and a fat containing umbilical hernia. Im 6/7 165 lbs and Im also hypoglycemic. My diet is very strict I survive on salad and fresh fruit and sugar free oatmeal. The cbc results are as follows monocytes 4.5 blood ure nitrogen 18 cholesterol 265 hdl cholesterol 39 ldl cholesterol 195 ldh 171 ggtp 62 iron 48 coronary risk ratio 6.5. I have never had a Dr be willing to put me on medication. Ive been told a million times to see a kidney specialist and a cardiologist but cant get one to see me without insurance. Not sure what to do. Im very sick and cant get anyone to help. Ive even had a dr tell me he wont diagnose me with kidney disease until I get insurance so I got insurance and they denied coverage before he even diagnosed me. I then had to quit working due to illness. Now Ive got no job and no insurance and no help. What do all these results mean? Whats the next step? Who will help me?

Im hypoglycemic yes that means I have low blood sugar...but there are many foods that raise sugar too fast then my insulin drives it down very low. So that diet is lots of protein, and slow burning carbs. The problem is that lots of protein is not great for my kidney and heart and neither are carbs....Since my bloodwork came back with low iron Im trying to correct that in my diet. I try not to eat animal based products because they are high in fat and cholesterol. It really limits what I can eat. I cant afford another heart attack....Thanks to everyone for your advice. I really appreciate any advice I can get.

Thank you for your suggestions.I do not qualify for adult medicaid. The income limit for a family of 3 is $200 a month. My child support is more than that. So thats out. Now the social security disability Im working on. Still waiting to hear back from the Hope Clinic. Its a medical clinic that charges on a sliding scale. Hoping I get in for free...Canada is looking more and more apealing....

Sorry  to hear  everything you're going  through!

I  agree  with the  others,  check into  MediCaid.    While you  get  approved, you might  also  try  a  county  hospital.  Most  county  hospitals  base  their  fees on  a  sliding  scale  based on your  income.

I have  a  question for you.... You mentioned you're "hypoglycemic"   yet you  only  eat "salad and fresh fruit and sugar free oatmeal"  ?
Did you  possibly  mean "hyperglycemic"  or  diabetic?
For  hypoglycemia you  need  to  constantly  EAT to  avoid  sudden drops in blood  sugar.

Take  care!

You may qualify for Medicaid - social assistance medical care (I am in Canada so I don't know what the terminology is - sorry - I think that is what it is called in the US) it also provides finacial assistance at a higher rate than welfare  too if I remember correctly. It is worth checking into.

It is a crying shame the US doesn't have public health care. I believe health care is a right, not a priviledge. My heart really goes out to you.
