It always feels like I cannot fully relieve myself for several days for a given stone. And great relief once it passes. I've only dealt with three so far but that is enough for me. No burning really, just irritated I would say.
I have only one. I do not think my symptoms are due to kidney stone.
A little late to your question! Sorry.
Most medical sources will tell you that a kidney stone is unlikely to cause urinary frequency unless associated with urine infection. However I disagree.
However I will often have frequent urination the day I pass a stone, at least the larger ones. This may be due to the fact that as the stone moves it turns and twists it may partial obstruct the flow of urine - so one is not completely emptying their bladder.
Once I finally pass the stone I'll have a few hours of urinary frequency.
It may also be due to the stone stimulating the bladder - or the fact that when I have a stone I'm drinking more. Again it seems to depend on the size of the stone. I've lost count of how many I've had. Last check and as always there were several sitting in my kidney.
The question that you're asking is not a simple yes or no, at least not for me anyway. Yes, I've had those symptoms with kidney stones, but the severity of each varies with each different kidney stone, sometimes depending on stone size, etc. The burning before/after urination doesn't last long for me usually and I always figured it was caused by the stone passing and causing irritation as it did. Never could figure out why the burning before the stone passes though. Frequent urination is kind of just a "given" for me when I have a stone though, but isn't constant and again, only lasts for a rather short period of time just prior to my passing any stone.
