Concerned a bit...

Hi. Lately I've noticed a tendency to have bruises in odd spots and I don't remember hurting myself at all. I've had small red dots on my arms but they went away after a couple of days. My lymph nodes in my neck are swollen. The nodules don't hurt, are about the size of a large pea and  there are several of them clustered together, but a few more scattered throughout my neck. I also have had ultrasounds of my neck, which showed thyroid cysts. I also have more cysts in other spots in my body. Some nights I have woken up sweaty and it wasn't warm in my apartment. I also had a fever and wasn't feeling well for almost a week. That was a couple months ago. Sometimes I still feel warm and pretty fatigued and just tired. Oh, by the way, my glands have been swollen now for around a year. My doctor thought it was just an infection and put me on Amoxicillin, but it only helped a little bit and only for a little while. She told me the swollen glands could possibly be from my adult acne. In addition, I've also noticed a much lessened appetite and I lost almost 10 pounds in almost a month. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I'm glad you are going to see a doctor in August.  It may be stress or something else causing the rapid weight loss, but it wouldn't hurt to mention it to the doctor anyway,  I'm sorry about the suspected fibromyalgia.  I hear that is pretty tough to live with.  You sound like a very positive person so no matter what health problems you have that will help.

So I suspect that all your lumps are due to thyroid cysts?  I don't know much about those but I assume they are benign and will eventually go away on thier own?  Your doctor might recommend another round of antibiotics (something different than amaxocillan).  I hope you find the answers you need so you can start doing whatever it is you need to do to feel better.  Please keep us posted.

Hi Mochadelicious. Thanks for the response! I have a doctors appointment set up for early August. I am a bit stressed out due to other various health problems that I'm worried about. I guess I should have figured that about appetite and stress. Another point to make is that my doctor suspects I may have fibromyalgia (my sister has it, too) and I guess swollen glands come with the territory. I did a little research. I have other health problems, so I can see why I'm a bit stressed. I do keep a positive outlook and my sense of humor is intact. I'll keep you and everyone else posted. Thanks again!

To me it sounds more like an infection since you did have some response to the Amoxacillin.  The fever, sweating and fatigue could be your bodies reaction to fighting an infection.  Also, swollen nodes are usually a sign of infection.  Have you been back to the doctor since you finished the Amoxicillin?  Maybe you need a stronger antibiotic.  The weight loss stumps me.  Have you been dealing with a lot of stress lately?  This too can affect your appetite.
