Many symptoms...no answers...

I am new to this site...
I am a 33 year old female, only known problem is Hypothyroidism which has been well regulated for some time.
For the past 9 months I have been getting sick very often and staying sick for a month or more each time.  I am
bruising very easily, incredibly tired and weak, overall feeling of being unwell, many sore throats and neck pain.
My labs are primarily normal except for my lymphocyte count which has been elevated for the past year...
between 4.6 and 5.7 and over 45%.  I am feeling sicker and sicker as the days go by and I am throwing up a lot
these days.  Any thoughts...my doctor is going many tests for various Autoimune disorders...but I am worried
that I could have Leukemia.  Does anything jump out?  Should I ask for any additional tests?

Hi:  Sorry your feeling so sick.  Until they run a complete work-up on you they will not be able to give you a definite diagnosis.
I do have Leukemia, and when they found it I had a high White Count, and all my numbers were elevated throughout all the testing.  I was feeling very fatigued, but blamed it on the tedious job I had.  I had no other symptoms.
Talk to your doctor about your concerns, and he may refer you to another physician for a second opinion.  I wish you well in finding out what it is that is making you this sick.

Normally, with leukimia, blood tests will show an elevation in white blood cells. If leukimia is suspected, initially it will show up on a blood test. Aside from the easy bruising, almost all of your symptoms point to either chronic fatigue syndrome or fibromyalgia.

Are your glands swollen? Has there been any weight loss? Do you have pain in your upper left side? Any night sweats?

If you've had weight loss, pain in your side and night sweats, and haven't had a CBC- Complete Blood Count, I would strongly urge asking your doctor to perform that blood test.

Unfortunatly, if this is chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia, it can take many months before a doctor can make the diagnosis since there isn't a pin point test that can reveal either of these two ailments. But definatly follow up with a doctor.

I'm not a physician but I watched my dad die from leukimia so I've educated myself on this disease. Stay positive and remember that only you know how you feel and what your body is telling you. If you're feeling something just isn't right. don't stop seeking tests until you have a difinitive answer. Hope you feel better soon. God Bless you.
