Well, as far as I know, there are certain patterns of gene mutations associated with certain diseases, especially cancers. Being a pattern means that the mutations are not random.
Some patterns of abnormality might be associated with the very early stage of a cancer. BUT having that pattern does not mean that a cancer will necessarily develop.
There might be statistics available for certain cancers and certain "non random" patterns in chromosomes.
