Hi.
A hard, fixed lymph nodes may mean malignancy.
However, there is no exact rule to this.  Only biopsy can confirm the presence of malignant cells in the lymph nodes.
It would be best to wait for the result of your examinations.
Good luck.

update went to MD yesterday about enlarged lymph glands md felt glands states they dont feel like cancerous nodes, states cancer nodes are usally hard but he is not r/o cancer during my exam my HR was 120 ekg done normal sinus rhythm but tacacardia. MD did blood work,MD thinks I have graves disease,Go back next week for results I was concerned still about the lymph nodes. I asked If i need a cat scan or mri md states not yet lets wait for blood work results.I guess my question would be can you tell by the feel of lymoh nodes if there cancerous or not. Im still going to go see E.N.T but my MD states he probally wont do anything. If your positive for graves disease.I felt relieved when I left his office knowning I dont have cancer but then again MD states hes not ruling it out.

Hi.
Intermittent fever can be a manifestation of infection.  However, malignancy can also present with intermittent fever, though of prolonged duration (months).
Since your lymph nodes increased in number in a span of several weeks, it would be best to have yourself seen again by your oncologist for proper evaluation.

Thanks for your time .No I have not been treated for enlarged glands before,as for my melonoma the location is on the left side upper back I have had 3 major surgeries to that area.I have been cancer free for 3 years.Just this week I have been running low grade temp 99-100 this is new symptom, which is very concerning I have no s/s of infection. my lymph nodes have been swollen for 3 months.when my MD seen me on december 10 I only had 1 enlarged node now there is three should I contact my MD or just wait for my biobsy in 2 weeks?

Hi.
Have you been treated before?
You have both melanoma and non melanoma (squamous cell and basal cell) skin cancer.  If the location of the skin cancer is in the head and neck area, or near the draining lymph nodes, there is a high likelihood that the 3 enlarged lymph nodes on the left side of your neck is still part of the skin cancer.  A biopsy of the lymph node will confirm this.
Good luck.
