About gum bleeding

I am 29 years old Male.I am suffering from gum bleeding since 3.5 years.Medicine doctor order me three times CBC test and always normal all parameters.Platelete were 239000 to 250000 in three test.I got amoxicillin capsule and gum bleeding gone away after one month again bleed gum.Tjen I have recently visited a dentist and he diagonsed moderate gingivities and given some atibiotics and gone away again.after 20 days gum bleed again and visited dentist again.dentist order some test, cbc, ct, bt, prothombin time, liver function. Today I have got the trst results. in CBC all parameters are in between range.Platelete is in also in between range but lower than previous result.Now: 179000 and prev:250000.MPV 13.1fl, RBC:5.09;ESR:09mm, Haemoglobin: 14.8 g/dl

I am very much afraid about my platelete count 179000 and MPV 13.9.
Because, my count has been decreased from 250000 that has been tested before 4 months and afraid about the decrease in future.

Yes, everyone makes new blood cells all the time. Whether your platelet count increases depends on if you are making more than you are losing. There is no way to predict what will happen at the moment.

Well, probably the first cause to suspect for lowering platelets would be some infection, whether the gum infection or any other infection such as even a virus. Infection causes inflammation, and inflammation causes platelets to get 'sticky' and clump together, which uses them up.

Antibiotics of the type called 'sulfa' might result in platelet destruction. Then the body tries to make up the difference by rushing new platelets into production.

New platelets are bigger than old platelets, so that makes the MPV (average size) higher.

Bleeding from low platelets would possibly start to occur at 100 or even 50 or less. You'd also expect easy bruising in arms and legs, etc., at that point.

So, you are telling that, at this moment my body is creating new plateletes.am I right? Your thinking is right.I am passing through heavy mental and body stress from last 15 days. And how many days need to reach platelete in normal count

Hi, your gum bleeding isn't from leukemia. We can know that from a variety of reasons, including your history with the bleeding and also that platelets have to get much, much lower to cause bleeding.

I suggest not worrying about leukemia, but concentrating on conquering the gum problem instead. Good luck.

Dear Sir,
I am worrying about the change of Platelete count.

Date wise Platelete count given as,
23.09.2017: 2,19,000
07.10.2017:2,50,000
13.03.2018: 2,39,000
08.08.2018: 1,79,000
All other parameters were same.

I am worrying about the changing of Platelete count.
I will be very grateful if you explain me why can be the change.
