Is my wbc count normal or should I be concerned?

My wbc count according to my doctor has always been low since I have been seeing him for three years and he is saying it is my norm but when I look it up cancer pops up and I have become extremely worried. Is this Normal for me or should I look into further testing. January of 2017 wbc count was 3900 May of 2017 4400 now April 2018 3900.

Hi, I wouldn't worry. When cancer causes the WBC to go low, it keeps going lower and lower.

Since you are steadily low, that might be even a good sign -- because it means low inflammation. That's if somehow you don't have some malnutrition.

If you can't stop worrying or if some symptoms develop, you could ask for bone marrow testing. But then again, if something was really bad, you would also expect low platelets and low red blood cells.

Good luck.

On my last wbc count I meant to put 3600 not 3900 again my doctor seems to say I just run low and it could be fine for me. I do have a cold right now so I wonder if that’s what is causing it to be lower and my RBC are 11.7 right now they were 13 a few months back but then again I just got off my monthly and my rbc have always fluctuated like that for years. Thanks again does this still sound normal?
