Autoimmune disorders

I have dystonia. But this year I have been diagnosed with adrenal insufficiency in March. Bone scan showed rheumatoid arthritis bilateral shoulders and few other places. Recently G.I. Gave me the wonderful diagnosis of P.B.C. Moor which I go Monday November 3, 2014 for the liver biopsy for staging. Are there any more immune surprises possible?

Maybe secondary adrenal insuffiency can cause your bones to degerate. It's hard to diagnosis but maybe with have an evale done by a endocranilogist if younhave not already done so.

I noticed in your bio that chronic pain is an issue as well as your noted RA. Is it the RA that is causing your pain issues or is there yet another suspected autoimmune disease lurking (FM is a bit vague ...)? The reason I ask is that I don't have RA but I do have severe bone degeneration going on and they can't seem to nail it down - another autoimmune condition is suspected. Pain is a constant theme and can be very debilitating.

Yes all the labs for PBC including the antibodies. They excluded the hep series. I did four antibody test Monday, included I think..IgA, lgG and igM. Have not got the results yet.  But thanks for replying. I hoping the staging is early. I had to pursue the doctors because they kept telling me the abdominal pain will get better after you do this or that...always trust your instinct.

Hoping you feel better soon or can get a match if your on the list.

Sorry to hear that your immune system's not being so nice. I've got a sister disease to PBC, you could call it just kinda the male equivalent, PSC. I have had several rounds of liver biopsies and I'm end-stage. Let's hope you're not as far along. Btw, the biopsies aren't as bad as you first imagine, just a little sore afterwards.

Unfortunately, other surprises are possible since autoimmune diseases can tend to run in packs. At least the biopsy will be able to rule out the AIH possibility which can overlap with PBC but this tends to be unlikely. I assume they've already done some antibody screens as well - AMA, ANA?

Good luck with your upcoming procedure and hoping for the best!
