Developing Liver condition

A couple of months ago I began to feel terrible and I couldn't figure out what the problem was. I had a blood panel test done by my doctor and everything came in within the norms. But here it is 3 months later and I'm still feeling ill. Initially my fasting blood sugars would range from between 110-128. This was always after I would drink wine the night before. But I haven't had any wine for the past month. My current symptoms are: Pale stools, frequent thirst and frequent urination. Fatigue, headaches (come and go), weight loss from 185-164 in the past 4 months. I also have insomnia at night. I have been a habitual drinker for as long as I can remember. I'm currently a 58 year old male. My recent consumption was a bottle of red wine a night. I'm also athletic and to manage weekend warrior dings and bruises I've taken a lot of Advil, acetominophim and tylenol. My blood test totals were along these lines three months ago.

Albumin 5.1 g/dl, AST 19 U/L, Bilirubin 1.1 mg/ml, ALT 17 U/L, Alkaline Phosphatase 58 U/L

I haven't had a drop of alcohol in the last 26 days but my fasting blood levels are still coming in between 96 and 126. And when they come in at 96 I now feel like crap whereas before I would feel fantastic.

I'm planning on going back to see my doctor and ask him to re-evaluate me.

Can anyone give me insights into what might be going on with me?

Kevin

Good your feeling better. If your symptoms flare up again see a gastro. Try to get tested for hep c, your in the bracket 45-65. Good luck!!!

Hi mzkity, I saw the ER doc, not a specialist. No, I don't believe I have Hep C. I'm actually starting to feel a bit better. I completely stopped drinking red wine (and all alcohol) and that seems to be doing the trick. But I do get occasional spikes in my fasting blood sugars so it hasn't completely gone away. I was diagnosed as Non-Diabetic for what that's worth.

Hey Kevin!!Sorry I cant interpret blood work. You don't say what type of doctor you went to but it should be a gastroenterologist. You also can post this in the cirrhosis community. Sorry your feeling so bad!! Do you have hep c? I notice its on your profile.
