High Ammonia levels

My son is in 4th stage liver failure & awaiting transplant.  He is having increasing problems with high ammonia levels.  He takes laculose & another med. in pill form.  Are there things he can be doing to help keep his levels down besides meds & low protein diet?

Greetings,

I'm hoping Mikesimon witll step in here, he knows a lot about the various stages of LD and real world experience with xplant issues.

Sounds like your covering the bases - the very low protein diet. controlled fluid intake (not too much - not too little) lactulose, etc.

You may also want to post this (if you havent) over on the "liver transplant" Q and A, The Doc there that moderates is smart and a good egg.
