High liver enzymes

I had blood work done on Monday and the results came back good except for my AST and ALT were high.
I asked for possible answer from the doc and he said he didn't know but I may have Hepatitis.
He said to wait 2-3 weeks have blood work done again and see if it was just a fluke or something.
He also advised me to quit drinking alcohol, and I told him I haven't drank since new years so no worries there, and to quit taking aspirin and again I told him that I take maybe a couple of aspirins per year so no worries there either.
I started a new exercise routine a few weeks before my tests and I have been taking aprox 100 gm of protein supplement per day for the last few weeks precluding  my tests but he thinks that don't have any thing to do with the elevated AST,ALT's
My AST levels were 137
And my ALT levels were 75
I personally think that protein supplement may  be what it is but I may be wrong.
I also don't think it is Hepatitis because I don't have any of the classic symptoms.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Jay.

I think you were smart Jay - you really do have to be your own advocate and, at times, a strong one.
I wish you clean results and a quick resolution to this issue.

Well I am discontinuing the supplements until the new results.
And I pretty much had to talk the doc into checking for hepatitis with this round of testing. He suggested that could be what it is then It seemed like he wanted to double check the lab results then go from there, I said wouldn't it make sense to kill to birds with one stone? So he finally agreed to it.

There are often no symptoms at all with hepatitis c. Most people who have hep c don''t know they have it for years or even decades. Your levels aren't extremely high but they are elevated and I believe that you should be tested for hepatitis A, B and C - if only to rule them out. I would want to get tested for hepatitis rather than wait to re-test to see if your enzymes normalize. I am not suggesting that I think this is an urgent situation. I am only saying that if the blood tests are accurate  - and they usually are - then something is causing your liver enzymes to elevate and I would want to know what it is.
I have no idea whether the supplements are involved but to be safe I would discontinue them until you get some answers.
