Can Gamma Gt be recognized through thalasemia test ?? is Gama gt a past of thalasemia test reports??
What are the possible reasons for increase in Gama gt ??
Well, first of all the name drew my attention, I mean ALT-alanine trans'aminase'. I googled "alanine transaminase" and found on wiki that ALT participates in the process of transamination-Aminotransfer reaction between an amino acid and an alpha-keto acid. then I googled amino acids and found that it is a very important substance for the brain as it serves as neurotransmitter.
I am posting the links for you, please correct me if I am wrong^

I wondered where you found the information that " ....as ALT somehow affects the metabolism related to amino acids that also serve as neurotransmitter in the brain."
I have increasingly elevated liver enzymes including ALT but also all the other enzymes and have never drank. Some testing implied autoimmune hepatitis;other testing didn't.I wondered what the source of your statement above comes from....
Thank you.
Hey there,
I also took blood test recently and was told that ALT level in my blood is 77 which is more than normal level of 41. I am 23, I don't drink alcohol and have never been seriously sick. This all started with some problems in my head. Few months ago I felt some tension in my brain and my ears started to ring. Doctors told me that it is tinnitus, but I have never felt any kind of headache. I have gone thorugh MRI and no pathology has been reavealed. Now that I have high ALT i come to think that this may be the reason of my problems as ALT somehow affects the metabolism related to amino acids that also serve as neurotransmitter in the brain. I have also been tested for viral hepatitis and none have been revealed in my blood. Please advice what to do
