Is ammonia smell in sweat a sign of liver disease?

I washed my boyfriends shirt today and it was soaking wet with sweat and smelled like a bottle of ammonia had been dumped on it. He is diabetic and had pancreatitis a few years ago. He doesn’t take his diabetic medications and still drinks beer almost everyday. He always has headaches, body aches, doesn’t sleep well and sweats buckets just walking. Any help would be appreciated.
