Overly sweet smelling poop

I'm an alcoholic, I've drank heavy for the past 10 years or so (34 now), but I've had a full blood (including liver) work up about 2 years ago, all came back clean/healthy.  Over the past 6 months or so I've noticed a sharp contrast to the smell of my poop.  It's smelly, no doubt, but the change is in the smell.

Its sweet smelling.  I know that sounds weird, but it smells sweet.  My stools smell like overpowering sweetness.

Sickly sweet.

It only happens when I drink, (3-4 times a week, 12- 15 drinks per event) or the next day.  I know it's drinking related, but I guess my question is:  "How bad am I?"  I know sweet smelling urine is a sign of diabetes, so I had my doctor run a full blood work up about 2 years ago (not because of the poop smell now, but an unrelated matter at the time (trouble peeing, especially at night)).  I'm scared to ask for it again.

I realize my life choices are leading me into an early grave, but I guess my question is this:
"How ****** am I, and how bad is it?"

You're not ****** and any bad you have done to your body can easily be reversed with a healthy diet and exercise. Realize that alcohol is toxic, a poison, and will only do you harm . I've been an alcoholic for 10 years as well and not a day goes by that I don't want to drink. The key is knowing the bad it does far out ways the temporary euphoria you feel. You're body is a very strong and resilient organ it will naturally cure itself if you provide your stomach with the proper nutrition.

It's likely IBS, I was a heavy drinker all 2017 and noticed the same problems. Problems urinating during the night (and sometimes emptying during the day), also cloudy urine, all related to IBS - almost as some kind of blockage. I stopped drinking, I drink rarely now and drink a lot of water and that seems to have resolved the issues urinating and the issues with pooping consistency issues but the smell is still kinda sweet. It will likely all going to fall under IBS and my doctor has just advised that I reduce alcohol consumption, eat better and drink a lot of water - all of which helped tremendously.
