abdominal pain

I have pain in the upper and lower right abdominal region for 2 years. The pain is strongest in the liver/gallbladder areas and around the ascending colon and naval region. Pain is dull soreness and hurts to lean or bend on my right side. Pain is constant and my back is sore as well. Other symptoms included are pale colored stools, occasional floating oil in toilet and sometimes diarrhea. Did get, in the past 6 months a normal liver function test result. I have done a gallbladder flush using epsom salts, olive oil and juice. Over 200 small stones were released but pain returned and worst after the flush. Could my symtoms be caused from bile stones caught in the bile ducts to the duodenum?

The right side upper quandrant is common to hurt with liver disease. Some think it is the liver feeling pain but the liver doesn't really feel pain but if the liver isn't functioning right causes other organs to hurt. I agree with happygma on the gall bladder. I had a CT Scan and numerous gall stones where found and that is where I feel the worse pain. If the stomack is hurting  it may be gastric problems. What happygma says about stool sounds right with the oil. It could also partly be due to the billiary tree is prevented from secreting normal bile pigments into the intestine the stool will lack pigmentation and appear lighter in color. Since you have the oil Rob  sounds right on that. I would suggest talking with a GI about a CT Scan, endoscopy and colonscopy.

I have experienced the same pain in my upper right region for a number of years, I had my gallbladder removed.  It didn't go away.  Then they said my bile duct was slamming shut so they went in and put a stent in... twice.  I have had my colonoscopies and an ERACP.  The pain has moments of being unbearable and the rest of the time it is just horrible.  They just did an MRI and found 2 cysts on my liver.  With your pain in the lower abdomin please have a colonoscopy, everyone should have one.  My husband had one a few years ago and had a polup removed... this would have turned into cancer.

If you are eating a lot of fatty things... stop.  This would be causing the floating oil in toilet.

The pain in  your upper abdomin very well could be a stone.  You need to have tests done to see.  God bless.  Happygma
