mildly enlarged and fatty liver

I had a Ulterasound and a CT scan that showed a mildly enlarged liver and also stated a fatty liver. My CBC and LFT blood work were all normal.I have pressure /pain in my right side just below my ribs. It moves down and to my side sometimes. I have been to 4 differant Doctors and they all tell me Im find watch what you eat. I have no appitite and have lost about 16pounds in 2 months. I dont get sick when I eat just not hungery. Doctors told me that it is just your nerves.I have had a upper and lower GI all normal. Does anyone have anything like this goin on. I have asked about cancer and all the doctors have said you are fine. I even went to a specialist and he said the same thing. Does anyone share the same symptoms as me and what to do next?????

To be honest I have no idea. If your docs say things are fine then I'd go with that. Personally I have never experienced pain in my liver despite having been to very ill with liver disease.
Even with constant abuse it can take years for fatty liver to progress to cirrhosis and the run up to cirrhosis is asymptomatic (no symptoms).
Your liver is an incredible organ, but just like everything else needs to be treated well. In any event, the majority of your liver cells get replaced every six months, so anything suspect today will soon be gone.
You are probably going to get ill through worry rather than through anything you may or may not be doing to your liver. :-)

Yes I have read some of them. I see that you post alot and try to help people understand things. I think that is great. As far as asking the same question to my doctors I real dont know what to ask them anymore. I have asked about Liver cancer pancreatic cancer.I try to tell them every little thing I can. They all tell me Im fine I ask about the fatty liver and they tell me to just watch what I eat. That is all fine but I still have this pain and that is what i want to know about. You seem to know alot about the liver, could the fatty liver cause the pain? I have asked the doctors and only on of them told me no he thinks it is IBS the others just said no.And thanks for responding to all the people that you do. I think it is great.

Not to be rude but Einstein defined insanity as doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result!

In your case you keep asking the same question over and over and getting the same answer. Go figure?

There have been a number of question here recently regarding fatty liver. Have you read the responses to those?

Same here.  Dx: Fatty, mildly enlarged dilated liver, pancreas, bile duct, pancreas divisum (rather benign congenital issue). But, no signs of cancer, i.e. adenopathy (tissue), ascites (fluid); after completing a recommended labyrinth of nerve-wracking diagnostic tests/CT scans of abdomen, pelvis, DVT, stool & blood work.  No symptoms either, except for pitting edema inflammation - both legs, feet, ankles. Voilà! Might've kept my big mouth shut and saved myself the stress (silent killer) over it all.
Next up, endoscopic ultrasound anyone?
