Liver Damage

Months ago (maybe 5 or more), I was working at a retirement home restaurant. I was holding a huge thin metal dray with plates of desserts in front of me, with the edge resting against my right lower abdomen, right under my rib cage. I wasn't paying attention, and ran into a refrigerator with the tray still in the same place. The tray went pretty far into under my rib cage, and then I bounced back. Ever since then I have had a slight uncomfortable feeling on that side. Recently I have noticed after being slightly constipated, and working out, a lot of pain/soreness in that area, and in my right lower back. I was curious if I might have damaged my liver awhile back, and maybe symptoms are showing now? I know the liver heals itself though, so I am not sure if I should just wait for it to still heal, or if I should get it checked out? Thanks for your help! Sorry for posting this under Liver Transplant, I just did not see another better option, and am in a lot of pain.

i do not think that you damaged the liver but instead probably traumatized the nerves running along the costal margin (ribcage).  if the pain is persisting this long you should have an imaging study of the liver to be sure, either a sonogram or CT scan.
