Liver Enzymes

My husband is 35 with no history of poor health.  For the last 5 days his stool has been white-ish in color.  He felt crummy last week for a couple days, so he went to bed.  He rarely takes any kind of medicines, but he's had a headache so he took some tylenol for a couple days.  He went to the dr on Monday 4-23 and his blood work came back today saying his cholesterol was low (they didn't specify which one-LDL or HDL) but his liver enzymes were high.  They said when the stool sample comes back next week, they are going to run more tests.  This is all they have told him.  What does this mean?  Is he in danger?  I like to think that if they thought it was serious they would have him in immediately, but I am really quite frustrated with the lack of information.

Thank you

White or pale stools in the presence of abnormal liver function tests signifies liver disease. You need to get an ultrasound scan of the liver that will help differentiate between a primary liver problem (hepatitis) or a bile duct problem. Bile duct obstructions due to stones or tumors can also lead to abnormal liver function tests and pale stools. It will be important to know if your husband has belly pain, recent fever, weight loss, itching of the skin or yellow eyes (jaundice) or dark urine.
