Thanks again. Thats why you guys are the Doctors! B&B
thanks for the update. they probably want to officially list him for a transplant before intereron therapy as there is always a chance for decompensation of the liver condition.
Hey-it's been a while. Just an update on Bobby. People need to listen to you when you say proper diet, exercise and rest are Key!!! I have watched the fluid disappear from Bobby's legs and abdomen. He's gone from 234lbs down to 192lbs.(he was 212 when he went into th VA and most of the wieght gain was the first week in the hosp. and they never put him on his diurectics!) Now, with the proper diet and low soduium, everything falls into place. He's wondering why Dr. Pratt doesn't put him on HCV treatment now. I think it's cause you need 6 mos sobriety for that too? He has been sober since July and he's doing great with that. Our next appointment is in Dec. with Dr. Pratts' Phys Asst. and then with the transplant people in January-yea!! Unless-where he's doing so well-maybe treatment first-then transplant?? Well just an update-hope all is well and people-Diet, vitamins, Exercise and rest. Take care Brenda & Bobby
Thanks again- talk to you soon! B & B
no problem Brenda. Keep up the good work and keep me in the loop.
Good Morning-Bob is on B1, Cyanocobalamin 1000MCG(B12), Folic Acid 1 mg Tab and One a Day multivitamin w/minerals. He has been on Gabapentin for some time for restless leg, although the only Zinc he gets is what's in the One A Day vitamin-maybe another supplement ? When we saw Dr. Pratt he was impressed with his numbers from his blood test and asked who was taking care of him-I told him you were all we had til his visit-He said great job! In my previous post titled "Too Late?" We want to thank you for everything you've done for us-listening and teaching us the do' & don't on fluid intake and sodium limits-it has made a world of difference. Now when Dr. told me we would probably meet with the Transplant team in Jan 09-I know we're going to make it because of how you helped us to do the right thing. And of couse Bob is no longer drinking! Dr. Thanks again for everything-we wish there was some way to repay you-you've been Great-Brenda & Bob(his real name is David but he goes by his middle name)
make sure that he is taking B vitamins and zinc supplements. it sounds like neuropathic pain that may be hard to control unfortunately. he might need strong er meds such as gabapentin.
Hey Dr. T-My previous posts were under Too Late??
