Prognosis for early liver cancer

I have successfully completed the 72 week Hep C program, I have cirrhosis.  Just found out I have to have RF ablation procedure.   Will I have to continue having ablations?  I have one tumor.  How long do the results of the ablation last?  what is life expectancy for early stage treated liver cancer? Up until this point my meld score was too low for eligibility for a transplant but they continued to monitor me.  I have been told this procedure will up  my meld score and put me on the transplant list.  Any feed back you can give me will be much appreciated as I am quite nervous.  Also, I don't have any symptoms that I am aware of except problems sleeping.  Thankyou.

RFA is almost never curative but works extremely well at keeping the lesion under control until a transplant is possible.  If the lesion is a certain size you receive priority on the liver transplant waiting list and would continue to accrue additional points every 3 months

it seems fairly conclusive that this was HCC arising in the setting of cirrhosis.  HCC is a malignant neoplasm.  The treatment you are receiving seems appropriate.

Thank you for your answer.

Is there any chance this lesion could be benign or does lesion confirm I have early stage liver cancer?
