Coping with a pregnancy loss is what most people would say the worst time of their life. After a miscarriage or stillbirth, your grief may be so overwhelming that you wonder if you will ever be happy again. You may never truly “get over” your loss, but know that your grief will become more manageable over time especially if you recognize your feelings as valid and accept that you may need time to work through them.

My tips to cope are

Honor your baby
Keep a journal
Find a support group
Take time off
Pick up a new hobby

Feel free to tell us your story or ask us a question.

Just wanted to share my story even though it's been a few years.  I lost my baby at 16 wks gest.  It was right before Christmas and will be 3 yrs this december.  I have PCOS and have trouble getting pregnant and have low progesterone levels.  I was on progesterone shots 2x weekly and had just stopped because my levels were better.  I went in for a rountine 16 wk appt and they were unable to find baby's heartbeat.  I already had 2 u/s that showed a healthy baby.  We did an u/s to confirm that baby had died.  The following day I went into the hospital to be induced.  It was very difficult and painful.  I delivered my beautiful baby boy at 9:00 that evening and then had to go to emergency surgery for a D&C due to bleeding and unable to deliver the placenta.  My husband got to hold our son while I was in surgery.  We buried him a week later and I did make a journal for him.  We also have molds of his hands and feet.  Even though it's been 3 yrs almost, I still think of him every day.  I just recently had another baby and know that he helped answer my prayers for another baby.
