Does a precarinal lymph node indicate cancer w/out additional abnormal findings?

I recently had a chest CT done to review status of soft tissue sarcoma nodules which thankfully, continue to be stable.  However, the radiologist found, "[t]here are subcentimeter in size axillary lymph nodes noted and a precarinal lymph node that is up to 8 mm in the short axis dimension."  He also noted that my spleen is at the upper limit for normal in size.  I am a middle-aged female who is fairly healthy.  However, I am a past smoker, and regretfully have smoked from time to time since; this history has caused me to be concerned about lung cancer.  I have not yet had the opportunity to speak with my primary or my oncologist regarding the results.  Researching precarinal lymph nodes online repeatedly directed me to lung cancer sites; hence my posting in this forum.  I would appreciate any insight offered.  Thank you in advance.
