What did I see?

I had a routine chest x-ray today...before taking the x-ray I told the technician that I had a marker in my breast due to a biopsy (negative) from years ago.  After the x-ray, she said, is the marker in the left breast?  It isn't, it is in my right breast.  I looked at the x-ray and it seemed clear accept that in my right lung I saw two very small white "dots" and in my left lung there was one....of course I have to wait for the radiolologist to read it, but the wait is going to kill me.....is it normal to have really small white areas in your lungs on a chest x-ray?  if not, is it possible for it to be something else besides cancer?  I do smoke (not a lot) but have been quiting and swear to quit once I get the results....Please let me know what it could be...of course i understand you do not have the x-ray in front of you to read it, just an idea would be appreciated.....and please tell the truth!

Hi,
Tiny white specks in the chest x-ray are unlikely to be cancer. These calcific spots are often seen in healed infections of the lung.
Please relax for now, and discuss in detail with your doctor once the report is available.
In the meanwhile, you should quit smoking. Completely. Right now. Not after getting the results, not tomorrow, but right now. Please seek prefessional help if necessary.
All the best, and God Bless!
