What to expect?

My uncle lives with me and he recently got diagnosed with Lung Cancer for a third time, but this time they also said he has metastatic disease.  They gave him the option of doing chemo, but that would give him an extra 3-6 months but it would not be a cure.  He is choosing to not do chemo.  His prognosis is 8-12 months.

My question is what can I expect? I am trying to prepare myself for this journey, but knowing that I'll be taking on a caregiver role (which I've already done for the past 10 years with my mom) with little/no help from his daughters, I want to be as prepared as I possibly can for this,  Does anyone have any insight they can give me as far as what to expect?

Thanks in advance,
Kimberly
