Hi,
"Right inferior lobar pulmonary artery and vein encased by mass" means that the blood vessels supplying a part of the right lung are surrounded by a tumor.
"Calcification within the mass" means that there is deposition of calcium within that tumor.
"Atelectasis" means that a part of the lung has collapsed.
"Encysted collection/pleural effusion, minor fissure" means that there is some fluid collection in the involved area.
"Nodular scarring" means that there is some scar tissue regenerating in that region.
"Peripheral parenchymal bands/septal thickening" means that in the surrounding lung tissue, there is some band-shaped tissue formation.
All the best, and God Bless!
Thank you, does regenerating mean more? Also what does band shaped tissue formation mean or what is this doing.

Hi,
I am sorry to hear about your husbands poor health and the challenges he is facing during chemotherapy.
What was the stage of the disease, and was any re-assessment done after 3 cycles of chemotherapy to determine the effect that the chemo has had so far?
Be strong, and God Bless!
We have now been told that the 4 cycles of chemo that my husband received has not worked, next friday he is receiving 5 days of radiotherapy. i have been told it is a big tumour.
Hi,
A 5 day schedule of radiation therapy is usually for palliative purpose (to relieve symptoms).
Have the doctors planned second-line chemotherapy?
Good Luck!
