Yep, I agree most definitely
I had three ticks embedded in my scalp in Indianapolis, IN 20 years ago. In Aug 2006, I started having terrible symptoms. The only test out of many that came back abnormal was Lyme. Yes, it must be able to lay dormant. My LLMD says yes too.
Google Syphilis and look at how it can lay dormant. Lyme bacteria are very similar to Syphilis, so it's common sense that it must lay dormant as well. (in my non-professional opinion:)
Yes, you should have the symptoms probably a couple of months after the bite, flu-like, however maybe yours wasn't bad. And then I got the neck and joint pain a year after that. Now I am going through the tingling...hate this sickness. I never know one minute to the next if I am going to go through something else. I believe mine was from my second home in Michigan in the woods. Got the rashes two years in a row different times. They say there is no way I could've gotten bit twice...lol Could it be the first bite and get a second rash a year later, who knows. Hope this helps!!!
well it was a big rash on my thigh not raised looked like i a got punched with half a ring. my lupus test neg so was ra negative. the joint pain hurts my legs burn so im thinking it has to be lyme.. hey margy if you need antibotics go on the internet and get them from vet suppliers. they are the same as human ones. i probably should just go get some doxy and dose myself. i wonder if 200mg a day is good or 500mg??
Tick bites are usually painless because the ticks secrete a substance that numbs the area. Not saying this was not a tick bite though. You could also get a localized skin reaction at the site which could cause the burning.
You can have lyme for long periods of time and not know it. It can lie dormant then become active from periods of stress.
Yes the DH pulled it out of my leg, yuck I know how Humphrey Bogart felt when the leaches were on him in African Queen 'LOl I was ill for a while and have been through the years, but each time I took an anti biotic it seemed to go into remission for a while ,I have heard others say this, the problem is getting a diagnosis as the Lyme Titer comes back Negative and the Doctors say you havent got it and wont go further or prescribe what you need, thats what I am up against ...some folks find LLMDs the only one round here is a Naturopath, I have however found a way round it, I called the Labcorp and asked them if they did more than the Lyme titer could they do the seperate tests for co infections like Bartinella and Babiosia ,there are 2 others I believe.... they said Yes they could but I had to get the Doctors order, I have plagued the Doctor here and I think he will go along with me ,after all as I said to him, "hey its my body my illness, please just draw and send the blood ', thing is I feel a ton better at the moment like myself except for the darn horrible rashes, as the anti biotics for a stomach bug have as per usual worked miracles , it was septrin which isnt supposed to work , for Lyme . I will keep you posted how I get on, I have to bully them ...
I don't recall the bite that infected me. My obvious illness began at a time when I was not exposed to ticks, so I tend to think I had a dormant case that activated. I think a period of intense stress caused my underlying Lyme infection to surface.
There is much debate about this. Some people do see the tick bite and get ill very quickly. In others, it seems to be a very slow and insidious progression not correlated with tick exposure.
that ***** so you do get really sick after a tick bite then?? that is so terrible you have to go through this were you ever put on any antibotics for this
I got sick about 2 weeks or so after being bitten by a deer tick, I had severe headaches, ear infections , palpitations and fatigue so severe I could barely work, I thought I was anemic , I was travelling to the US around this time from UK and even when I got here I had terrible back and hip pains,I remebered the tick bite and had a test done it was Normal as have been others since, 20 years later I am still fighting for a diagnosis ...just to be able to get onto the right anti biotics ..Good Luck
