second appointment - LLMD.
I had my second appt. with LLMD. on Monday - it was a suprising one !
I told him all about the 'wierd' stuff I experienced whilst taking 'doxy' - he said it was niether 'herx' or 'allergic' reaction to abx. - he was quite happy that I could take 'doxy' again - I asked him about Amoxicillin - he said they aren't as good as doxy in that they aren't as broad a spectrum abx. but the good thing is they don't cause the [ possinle] severe reaction to sun.
The suprising thing he said was - don't start the abx. untill/if I get a 'flare' - he didn't recommend having the 'Igenex' testing [that is the lab. he uses]
so he has given me prescription for Amox. - and said 'you probably won't need to see me again' - !!!
this is an LLMD. who comes highly recommended by other 'lymies' who he has helped - dare I say it - cured ..

??? I don't get the plan either. Did you ask questions? You may want to talk to him again and ask what the plan it, does he think it's lyme etc....
I'm not sure I understand "the plan." Are you done with doxy, and now have amox. that you will start when you flare?
In "Cure Unknown" the author write about how her Lyme finally was cured: She took abx until her symptoms (all of them) went away. Then she came off her abx and waited for ALL of her symptoms to return, full force, and resumed abx. I think it took about 3 cycles of this approach for the symptoms to stay gone.
So, what you are saying sounds a bit like this approach, but again, I can't tell from what you wrote if you are still on the doxy or not? Have your symptoms resolved, or are they ongoing? If your reaction to doxy was neither a Herx nor an allergy, then what was it?
I don't recall, do you have (or are you suspected to have) co-infections? They can complicate and lengthen treatment.
