Duration of bump

I was bitten in NC by a tick a month ago. the red dot that formed after I was bitten in still there. There is no bull's eye, rash, or pain, but I'm wondering how long a red dot should stay, and if I should have my doctor check it out just in case.

The rule of thumb with Lyme and other tick diseases is to get treated as soon as possible -- otherwise the disease can get entrenched and be more difficult to treat.

If you are not already seeing your MD very soon, please consider calling to make an appointment soon.

It was near Jacksonville. And yes. I'll mention it to my doctor when I see her next. Thank you.

Hello,
Just wondering where in NC you were bitten. I'm from MI but I spent last summer in NC near Charlotte. I believe I may have been bitten sometime while I was down there too but I never got a rash or saw a tick. I was just diag with Lymes two weeks ago and started treatment.

Yes, you should see your MD, in my untrained opinion.  The tick may still be buried in your skin and so irritating it ... as well as potentially infecting you with something.  Better safe than sorry.
