I have had lyme since 2002. Never had any real debilitating symptoms until 2007. My fiancé has had it (what we think) since 2003. We are avid avid campers and cottagers.. but I was bitten right in my home town (very close to Toronto). My doctor also said that there was a chance that i was bitten a second time (somewhere between 2002 and 2007)

Chris suffered a long time with thei so called IBS before we even knew about our lyme. His Herx's are strictly just stomach related. He has no other symptoms except for the limb twitches and stomach problems.
His herx's have been every 4 weeks roughly and it includes diarrhea, when its not full out diarrhea it is very soft stool, stomach pains/pressure, major gas, and when he has to go.. he has to go. :-)

I am lucky that i did not suffer from any stomach related problems. The only thing i have noticed in the past year is my stomach makes funny noises especially when digesting my food.

Hopefully it's just a herx... you also have to watch out for the H.piloyri. I have heard that quite a bit recently.

Take care.

Hi there.
Both my fiancé and I are being treated for lyme (Month #4) He has suffered with "IBS" for approx. 5 years. He has had a colonoscopy and endoscopy completed.. and of course found nothing. I believe his problems are related to the lyme and i have meet many other lyme "victims" that also suffer from unexplainable stomach/digestive problems.
He found that Doxy was the best for his stomach problems. Since starting the biaxin/flagyl treatment his stomach has started to bother him again. Maybe Herx related.

Sometimes I have IBS, but I had also a really bad time with chronic gastritis and a duodenal ulcer about 3 years ago. They found no H pyelori in my system and never could me a real explaination on what caused it.

Hey.. well yes I do notice bouts of irritable bowel.  It comes out of nowhere.  Sometimes after I eat I immediately get horrible stomach cramps and diarheaa (sorry TMI!)  After a few trips to the Loo I'm better.  Don't know if in any way it's related.
