I am having a very hard time finding an LLMD in Indiana. I went on the ILADS.org and Idk if its my brain fog but i cant find where it lsts LLMDs and says u have to be a dr to be a "member". I live in northwest indiana and have indiana medicaid(financial assistance) if that helps. Thankyou!

and PS one big reason you don't find LLMDs names on the ILADS website is that state and local medical boards often have it in for docs who treat Lyme aggressively, so the LLMDs don't want the publicity.

That's why we do *not* post LLMD's names in the open here -- to protect them and thus ourselves.  fyi.

No, no, you're not an airhead on that account -- we here sometimes forget to hand out the road map on how to find that email address on the ILADS website, and it's not exactly easy to find.  One big sprawling messy website, but then that's kind of like Lyme:  sprawling and messy.

Hope it helps.

Although Michigan isn't your state---- the woman 'behind'  the Michigan Lyme Disease Association might know of a doctor nearer you, if not in your state. I'll p.m. you her email address if you get no help from this:

MLDA
35431 Brush St.
Wayne, MI 48184
1-888-784-LYME(5963)

It's worth a try, at least. The MLDA has helped a LOT of people and are patient oriented.

Good luck and let us know if they helped you.

Here is there web site
http://www.mlda.org/

Perhaps calling some of their support groups might give you a name closer to you------ most Lymies are extremely willing to help others.

and PS,

I just googled

                   indiana llmd

and got a bunch of hits.  No guarantee there's anything useful, but work your way through the links or ask a friend to do it and write down or copy/paste the doc's names and locations.

Remember we do NOT post doc's names here in the open, to protect them from medical board vigilantes.  We refer to them as Dr A or Dr Z or whatever.

You don't need to go on the website, which is kind of a mess, as you have seen.  They keep adding to it but nobody's tried to tidy it up, I think.

Instead, send an email to:

           contact   [at]    ILADS    [dot]    org

(notice that's contact *without* an "s" at the end)

And tell them in your email where you are located (like city state zip) and if you're near any big cities and how far you can travel.  I don't know how they figure out who to refer you to, but nobody has told me it that doesn't work ... you may not like the doc you get, but ask for another try from ILADS if that happens.  There is no screening test that I know of to be on their referral roster, so you never know.

Hang on!
