If your doc is not aware of your shortness of breath, do talk with the doc specifically about that.
If the doc dismisses your concerns, or has not considered the possibility of other infections that often come along with Lyme, and has no further ideas, then I would consider seeing another doc who specializes in Lyme. Even if your doc considers him/herself an expert in Lyme, it's an area of medicine where not all is clear.
You don't need to tell your current doc that you are getting a second opinion -- just go do it. Take care -- keep us posted --
I've mentioned this before----- be sure your shortness of breath isn't caused by something else, like blood clots in your lungs.
I don't mean to scare you------ but I learned the VERY hard way that Babs isn't the only reason we can get S.O.B.
I almost died thinking my S.O.B. was from Babs when it actually was pulmonary embolisms in my lungs.
But---- in keeping with keeping a positive thought------it probably is just Babs.
Hi,
Sorry you are having this new frustrating symptom. From my own experience, the shortness of breath (aka air hunger) was caused by the co-infection of Babesia. This calls for anti-malaria medications since it is similar to malaria.
I took Mepron to start, and then changed to Malarone. I was also on abx for my Bartonella and Lyme.
Do you have an LLMD? Most of them will treat you based on symptoms alone.
I would check with your family Dr if you don't have an LLMD just to make sure nothing else is going on heart related.
Keep us posted ok?
