Is it Lyme?
Hello,
Do my symptoms sound like Lyme desiese? I have been havimg most of the the last 10 years:
-acne like papulonodular rash on face and upper body
-a lot of eye floater, sometimes flashes when too bright, blurried vision when looking at distant objects, light sensitivity
-stiff neck, pins and needles in hands, tingling, trembling, pain in fingers, mostly toes
-clicking joints
-bowel sounds
-increased sweating, increase in smell, night sweats sometimes
-fatigue
-muscle aches at night in legs, cramps
-anxiety
I tested negative on Elisa Igg for Lyme desiese. I also tested negative in many tests for syphilis. I am really confused of what is wrong with me.
Do you suggest to perform the western blot igg test for Lyme desiese? Or would it be a waste of money, as I already have neg on Elisa?
From my research my symptoms are most relevant with either syphilis or lyme desiese. I read that syphilis tests' specifity is 96%, and Lyme tests are only 50% sensitive. I also noticed that you could have lyme desiese dignose without provement of positive tests and get treatment, but this is not the same with syphilis where you MUST have positive test as scientific evidence of infection. My derm absolutely refuse to accept that I have syphilis wih negative tests, so I hope to have much luck with an infection desiese doctor with Lyme. And as both desieses are coused by a spirochete I assume the treatment could be similar and I could be cured no matter which desiese I have, I hope! I am really confused and I will be very thankful if someone can help!
