is it Lyme

Lots of stuff happening with me. For about 6 weeks now I have been very dizzy with some ear pain and numbness and tingling  in my arms and hands.Sometimes they just ache.. went to the Dr. and he says I have TMJ with some ear fluid. So some steroids and then antiimflamatory drugs and still have ear pain. went back to  a different dr yesterday with ear pain and told him of my symstoms and he did a lyme test. This morning I woke with a new symtom. My lips are numb. Could I have a pinched nerve from compensation of my jaw pain and ear pain or could this be Lyme. I have not noticed a bite or a rash. Just want to feel better. What are your thoughts.
Thanks
PJ

Thanks for your comments. Turns out it's not Lyme, it is TMJ and it's getting better. I am concentrating on  not clenching my teeth. I tend to do that when I get stressed. Even at night if I wake from a dream I notice some clenching going on. I am going to go to physical theropy, They seem to think thay can help me as well as a TMJ specialist. Right now I am just happy to be feeling better....

You say steroids surpress your immune symptom but a month or two ago, I got poison ivy and the dr prescribed a big 2 week dose of cortisone. I felt a whole better when I was taking it and the symptoms from the Lyme Disease seem to go away, no aches and pains in the joints. Now I'm off the cortisone, I feel awful. my ankle hurts day & night and i'm getting lots of episodes of diarrhea and now dizziness too.
I had a awful case of pain in my right side, this weekend.. Is that where your kidneys are? Oh, god, it felt horrible....
we've gotten the bulleye's rash but we also tested negative on the ELISA test, but I read that hapepens often with Lyme Disease. We're in western NC and it's deer country around here. We saw a baby deer yesterday in our own backyard!
We see deer all the time in our yard and we don't have a fence to keep them out either! It's scary....

Hi.  Sorry you're not feeling well.

I'd call your doctor and report the new symptoms.  Only s/he can figure out what's up.

You do live in Lyme country, and it's summer tick season, so ..... your MD is right to do a Lyme test.

Many of us never saw a tick or a rash, so the absence of either or both is not diagnostic.

Re the MD who gave you steroids:  Steroids suppress your immune system, and that's the opposite of what your body needs IF you have Lyme.

I'd suggest a call to your Lyme doc and report the new symptoms -- only s/he can say whether something needs to be done.  Let us know how you do!

Best wishes --
