I didn't think that was enough... now what, can I go back on it?
Thanks again Gorbybelle, you take care also.
just read your other post - no - one month of doxy is not enough - even 3 to 6 months isn't enough for a lot of folks with lyme.
it seems to be the case that the longer someone has had lyme the longer it takes to treat - I guess the bacteria multiply faster than they die-off.
take care
hi, yes - if you post a question - you should get more opinions/advice.
most 'lymies' recommend a lab. called 'Igenex' - you can google it or ask about it here - this is the most informative/best test for lyme - though it still doesn't always give a definitive answer.
take care

Gorbs, thank you so much for the advice, I appreciate it. When you say a new post do you mean post a question. Maybe this is why I am not getting answers...lol I am commenting on others..ok thanks again and take care of yourself. Yes, my Dr, I think feels I am ok and I am not. Are there more testing that can be done. I only had the one. Thanks again...chatter
hello, welcome to the lyme forum - it is my understanding that a month of antibiotic isn't long enough to eradicate all the lyme bacteria - especially if you were not treated immediately after being bitten
as you had the rash come back - and also neck stiffness - I would say [I am not medically qualified] - you need more testing and treatment for lyme
my blood counts are o.k. but everyone can have different symptoms/problems
it is likely that your 'eosinophils' could be elevated because of lyme bacteria
the best advice I can give you [if you haven't already done so] is to find a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor - known as LLMD. - these docs. know the whole picture of lyme ie;symptoms & treatments
I would urge you to seek treatment as quickly as possible - as the longer lyme is left untreated - the harder it is to eradicate all the bacteria - it is very good at hiding in the body.
Many mainstream docs. have the attitude that once you have had the initial course of antibiotics then you are 'cured' - which is not usually the case - and so will not do further tests or treatment - of course you may have a 'good doc.' - so I would perhaps talk to
him/her first about more tests - the tests for lyme are not always reliable - sometimes they can be 'negative' - when in fact the bacteria are still present.
you would be best to write a 'new post' so that you will get more response here - there are some very knowledgeable / helpful people on this forum - if you do need to locate an LLMD - there are folks here who can help you - I am in the U.K. .
there is no limits on how many times you 'post' here so if you have questions or want to share experiences, etc; feel free

Hello, I am fairly new at this. I was diagnosed with Lyme a couple of years ago, was on doxy for a month, however I truly believe it hasn't helped. Does your other blood counts go out of whack. The latest with me is my eosinophils are elevated and am wondering if this has anything to do with lyme. I had a very stiff neck which affected my skull, it was terrible went to a rheumi, they sent me to rehab, that is much better. Does the rash come and go once you have lyme? I had the rash a couple of years ago when I was diagnosed and then had another rash six months later with the neck issues. I would appreciate any help?
Thanks

I overdid it recently too and am paying for it now.
