Hello, so sorry to hear your not feeling well. I got super sick (sore throat, cough, head congestion) when I was about 5 weeks pregnant and it lasted until I was about 7 weeks. It was horrible because it took my body forever to get rid of it because of course my resistancy is down. I was very worried but after doing lots of research and talking to my dr. I was reassured baby and I would be ok :)
I was told that more severe things such as infections (uti, bacterial vaginosis etc.)or the flu could be dangerous but nothing like what I or you have/had. Relax and take care of you and baby, get lots of rest and drink lots of flluids, it might take a little longer to fight it off than normal.
BTW-green mucus might be indicative of a sinus infection. Press two fingers on your cheek bones...if there sore could mean you have a sinus infection.
Good luck and take it easy :)
Thank you girls so much. I will be going to the doctor today so i hope something works. I would love to drink hot tea with honey all day but ive cut out caffeine to play it safe. Im only worried because the mucus that is coming out has turned green which can mean infection.
I had a sore throat and stuffed nose for 3 weeks and also some bad coughing (even though I was practically FORBIDDEN by my OBGYN to cough).
Just started getting better. I treated myself with honey+lemon, tea, salt gargle and a bit of cough syrup (prescribed by my doc)... you can also take some Strepsils and for the nose try to drink/eat hot stuff... like hot soup, tea etc. It will help you. I am trying to take as little medication as possible and the home remedies worked just fine for me. Just make sure you don't eat/drink cold stuff.
I also read that stuffy noses are pretty common in pregnancy so nothing to worry unless you get fever and other complications. Your baby will be just fine :). Good luck!
im sure your baby is fine i had fever for in week around week 7 and bebe was fine the are very protected in there as mmeriche said just take care of yourself and get better.
I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. :( I am sure your baby is fine.. they are tougher than we think and well protected in there! My baby wasnt even phased when I broke a toe and passed out - or when I electrocuted myself on a stupid lamp at home! I freaked out when these things happened but baby is as happy as can be. As long as you are taking your vitamins and getting the nutrients you need, and loading up on the fluids, I don't think you need to worry..hope you feel better soon :)
