absentmindedness/or going mad?

ok so am i going mad?
i think every woman expects a certain amount of forgetfulness during pregnancy, i mean we're supposed to be wrapped up in our body image and baby stuff....
however i think my brain went on vacation...except i cant remember anything about it!
its getting quite dangerous too, for example, i forget things as soon as ive done them!
putting stuff on the stove, walking away etc
how to make a card...ive been doing it for over 5 years!
making my daughters lunch then leaving it on the side as we walk out to drive to school, and i only remebered half way to school!
its soo bad and i know a certain percentage has to be due to lack of sleep for one reason or another but really is anyone else having problems and what are you doing to `get over it`?

oh thank goodness its not just me..i mentioned it to my doctor ...he just laughed at me!
i know ive not been sleeping well lately, i mean after having my other 3 ive been a really light sleeper anyhow but i think thats just natural but lately if its not being uncomfortable..heatrtburn...baby moving...stuffy nosed...or just plain overtired then i dont know what...
shiska..if it is related to the size of your belly then that explains alot...im so huge now my brain must be the size of a peanut LOL
mmeriche...lists urgh i make lists but forget to take them with me! imm hopeless, i stand in the aisle of the supermarket reeling off what ive got in my trolley despertely trying to jog my memory...its fruitless tho (excuse the pun) as everything in the trolly is NOT on the list which i find when i get home LOL
perhaps im a lost cause...i cant remember if it returns to normaality after baby comes or not...normally theres so much else to think about i think i blame it on having a newborn then LOL

Well ladies if it is lack of sleep from being pregnant it can totally make you forgetful. I have sleep apnea anyway and then getting pregnant has made me even more sleepy...lol. From years of not sleeping good it does take its toll. I use to have the memory of an elephant and then over a short span I got the CRS problem (can't remember s*#$). It does get a lil better and it dont last long...at least these are the things I keep telling myself cuz I dont think I could function if I forgot much more...lmao! If ya find a good remedy for it...please let me know!!   ^_^

I listen to the show on Doctor radio on Sirius, they were talking about "pregnancy brain".

Doctors said there is a such thing. As your belly gets bigger, your brain shrinks.

I am also becoming very forgetful.

Yeah my friends call it (PIML) Pregnancy Induced Memory Loss. Dont feel bad you're not alone couldnt remember the names of my coworker and other simple things. I watched a TLC baby story or the like show where they offer quizzes during the breaks and one asked whether it was true that pregnancy affects the memory and the answer was no. We know that's not true but the comforting thing is that everyone says the memory returns after the baby is born. For nine months you have free pass to say leave me alone I'm pregnant lol most people will empathize lol!! Enjoy the other positive aspects of the pregnancy until after the baby when your faculties will return to some semblance of normalcy.
