weight gain

I went for my weekly check up today and i have gained 11 pounds in 1 week. All thru my pregnancy i have gained and lost. last week when i went i was less then then the weight i started when i found out i was pregnant. I don't understand how i gained so much weight in 1 week. i don't have an appetite anymore. i have to make my self eat for the baby but i can't eat alot before i am full. I am scared!! I went for my last sonogram about 3 weeks ago and the baby weighed at 5 pounds then. I go again for another sonogram and doct visit next tuesday 2/1/11. Anyone have any advice i am scared of toximia or something but my blood pressure is fine.

I gained 12lbs in two weeks from water retention. Doc said they dont like to see that much of a weight hike but it is normal. Sounds to me as tho you have an all baby weight gain outside of a little fluid retention. I gained and lost this entire pregnancy as I did with my other two and believe it or not I lost more weight directly after their births than I gained during the entire pregnancies!

I am with natashajay...unless it is a concern from the doc dont worry   =)

im the same, i didnt put much on at all but lately its gone way up im now upto 18+lbs but it has to be baby as i cant see how my meager portions have bumped my weight up by that amount..unless your health care provider considers it a problem dont worry about it, im sure its all normal and worrying wont help your blood pressure xxxxxxx

i am sure you already considered this, but were you wearing heavier clothing this week than you were last week? at my visit before last, it was snowing so i had on really heavy boots (i actually decided to weigh them at home and they added 3 pounds to my weigh-in) - this visit reflected no weight gain because of it, but i know better! just a thought. :)

i wouldn't worry too much about it.. it could be water retention in combination with what you have eaten, drank, how full your stomach and bladder are or aren't, and so on. i would suggest tracking your weight at home this week if you are really concerned.. you should see a trend if there is something you may need to see the doctor about. what did your doctor say about the 11 pounds in a week? i think if he/she isn't concerned, you shouldn't be either- unless you notice anything else that just happens out of nowhere that you aren't positive is due to being pregnant!

my appetite isn't as intense as it has been, either. i feel like i can get by eating my usual amount each day.. but add those extra calories with something easy to down - like a smoothie.

hope you have a good week until your appointment, keep us posted!
