Cabin fever
I'm so ready for winter to be over and this polar vortex crap It has been I insanely cold this winter. Worst then I ever remember. It's currently -16 with a wind chill of -35. My kids are home on their 4th "snow day" this month. Odds are schools will be closed tomorrow too because it's not supposed to be getting any better. We rarely ever close schools here but I'm glad they decided to because its dangerous to be outside for more then 5 minutes.
Spring break is in March I think. They only get a week off for it but then summer vacation is from the being of June until September.

When is spring break, and how long is that for? The christmas holidays are our longest, 6 weeks, then there's easter holidays, 2 weeks, and another 2 weeks in July, then September. Too many holidays i say lol!

Same here tonight low is -20 with windshield -45. The day my son and I came home from hospital 3 weeks ago was recording breaking temps.

They got 7 days off for winter break around Christmas/ New Years but that's it until spring break. Just got the notice that school is closed tomorrow too. It seems the weather has been off all over North America the last couple months.
The US only gives Luke 2 weeks vacation at Christmas time...just enough for Christmas and new years. We had that kind of schedule when I went to year around school. Oh how I lived it. 6 weeks in school and then 3 weeks off.
Oh that would be terrible, I couldn't imagine it that cold, I used to live in New Zealand and I thought that was cold enough for me! And it feels like kids are always sick too when its really cold. Did your kids have any Xmas holidays? My kids have had 6 weeks off and actually go back to school today!
Yuk..hope it warms up. I am with you on being a crazy winter and READY for it to be over. We had really cold weather unusually early this year, but has since warmed up and are having air stagnation warnings. There's usually always a breeze, but not the last few weeks. And minimal rain- one snow day (which was just a trace amount...which is normal here).
Mizzz I couldn't agree more. Drove to my dr appointment today and passed a lake that's usually super full.. sad to see so much has gone. Everything here is bone dry. Fire season will be brutal this summer.
It's been so nice here but we seriously need some rain. It's getting scary.
Sounds miserable! And I thought it was getting cold here at night. Hope it start heating up there soon.
