African Violet Raffle #3
I was about to skip this month since I forgot about it until now, and I'd like to have the next month's raffle go with Valentines day (got one that has the perfect name, lol). I thought having this month's raffle and next month's raffle would be too close, but I'll do it anyway.
This one is Frosted Finesse. I bought it two years ago in a greenhouse/garden center for my B-day. I like variegated leaves, and to have them on an African Violet is pretty cool. I felt the name fit this month because I feel like a frozen popcicle every time I step foot outside this last month, lol. I believe most of you in the U.S. Share the feeling.
Just like the previous two games:
- Pick a number between 1 and 1000
- You only get to post your number once
- the number was selected at random by a random number generator.
- Winner gets to upload the photo to their profile and enjoy the benefits of owning their own "hard to grow" blooming African Violet with no hassle of having to water and fertilize.
-The deadline will be Next Saturday, the 31th at 7:00 pm Central Time. Any posts dated after that time won't count. The next one I plan to begin on the 1st and end on Valentines day. (provided my computer stays stable)

Sorry for taking so long to get back to this. Around dinner time I got drawn into watching Antique's Roadshow (something grandma really enjoys). Some stuff is really neat. Other stuff...who knew that a beaten up ugly clock could sell for several thousand dollars?????
After that got caught up watering plants, feeding the cats and changing light bulbs. Necessesary evils....

I have one favorite flower, and I know why it is my favorite. It comes in great variety of colors and shapes. But I also love roses, Lilies, Orchids etc.
Violets are just dazzling. ugh..you're making me want flowers.....

Flowers are pretty and they do take work. They stop blooming eventually and the plant rests for a little while and looks scruffy afterwards. Then it may put up another show later.
Right now my violets are not liking the cold water I have to water them with... I need it to warm up outside so the water doesn't come so cold when I turn on the faucet.

uh- ok...but trust me, if you were to allow multiple votes from the same person I'd be the winner all the time LOL

I plan to hold the raffle on a monthy basis. If you don't win this month maybe you will next time. If I were to allow multiple votes, then what's to stop someone posting 1000 times other than maybe someone's computer? (1000 posts would be a real drag to load and I don't think my computer can handle it.)
At the end of the contest I list everyone's number in word or text document so I can look by number alone. Then I weed out the numbers not close to the random number. When I select the winning number, then I do a search to find out who won. There will always be a winner. I pick the number closest to the random number.

103 - I've never played! BUT, my African Violet that I bought when I moved to WI finally died. I'd love another! 103 is my bus #.
