Anyone worried over North Korea stating they wont honer the 1953 peace accords??

Today in life, with just the everyday things that are going on, there is so much to think and worry about. Then come home eat your dinner watch the evening news and bam!!!! Right in the face you hear about a crazy little nut case in North Korea, that says they are not going to honer the 1953, peace accords. They set off a nuclear bomb test and this idiot is willing to start a war.

My big Question is we have 30 to 40 thousand trrops on the DMZ, and if they do try to invade South Korea the men and women of our country there wont stand a chance. So why don't we do something about it? This man needs to be stopped, he could very well sell a nuclear device to the Islamic nuts of the world. Plus we owe to our men and South Korea to put a stop to this idiot. Now before all of you bleeding heart liberals jump all over me think about what this nut is trying to do, start a world war, he even has Russia worried.

So I had my say lets see how much I am going to get beat up, and how many agree. So have at it...peace and love to all...brian

Swampy just wants to comment on North Korea.

The US troops in South Korea are alongside South Korean military forces which have substantial capabilities. Their goal is to slow down an invasion until reinforcements arrive. North Korea does not have the military capacity to interdict US logistical and military movements. They do have the capacity to destroy Seoul.

The US needs to play its relationship with China very carefully. China won't want to interfere militarily against the US like it did in the 50s, the US is too important a trading partner for that. However, the US will need to make it clear to China that it will absorb part of the cost of caring for refugees that would be an inevitable part of the conflict.

North Korea doesn't care that their own people are starving to death, so Swampy thinks they they won't care much about the devastation of using a nuclear weapon.

I keep hearing that word! Socialism! Have you ever gotten food stamps? How about SSI!  Free Cheese?  I think it is called WIC!  Help with housing? I have heard not one, not ONE! complaint about those federally funded programs! Why Not?  Is that not socialism? Have you ever gone to a County Hospital and could not pay? Those are subsidised with federal money!

And as far as the nut casting missiles! Everyone knows this dude is retarded. He baits us, just like Saddam Hussein did? Does anyone remember that? He baited us, threatened us, told us he had weapons of mass destruction, and if you remember, sanctions did not work with him either nor did any of the other nations want to get involved with him either! We sure got some short memories here!

Think what you will of Bush. Or Obama.  They were both elected by Dem's, Republicans, and Independent majorities. That's a fact. And another fact is "We live in a different world and the OLD ways, obviously were not working, thus the "Remaking of America" is needed.  There! Now I feel better and shall have my tequila now!

Well healthcare is another debate but something everyone who is an American citizen should be entitled to. But there should be a form of graduated premium so that it doesn't burden taxpayers. Socialism in pure form is actually fading around the world. In Europe the countries that are socialist have stopped many of their socialist programs and are no longer giving people public benefits for life and have a more restrictive immigration policy. I definitely don't support the United States outsizing business but that's part of globalization where the priority is the owners of the large cooperations. Socialism would be against that as a concept but I don't support socialism. I am actually quite upset at the small busineses that keep going bankrupt. Family owned businesses that stay in business and make a profit and able to expand are part of what built America into what it is.
But as for the focus of this discussion which is the war I would believe North Korea would have the intelligence to back down but we have to have the sense of strength to be able to insure that they don't manipulate us again. We can't make deals with them for reducing nuclear arms because this is what they turn to. They have to know (as do all countries) that the United States is to be respected and not part of their political game.

Now North Korea is stating that they think they can get a missile to reach us here in the US!  Very scary!  When are we going to do something about this!?  I am so afraid that we are now perceived as weak when it comes to our defense.  So sad!

I also want to say that we are definitely on the march toward socialism by the progressives in the government.  It is going to be a sad day when we have to show papers to go from one state to another!  We are losing our freedoms every single day!  Nationalizing car companies, banks, healthcare, etc.  Those of us who have grown up in a free capitalist society are going to be so sad when it happens.

This country has gone from an industrial nation to a consumer nation.  We cannot pay our national debt if we do not do something to bring big business back to this country.  If Cap and Trade is allowed to begin - we will lose the rest of our large manufacturers here and then we will be no better than a third world country.  Socialism is NOT the way!

Once healthcare is nationalized, our tax is going to increase to a point, that we will all be hurting - not just the very poor.  So sad!

It is  good you are questioning it all some do not get it  .they .cannot see the wood for the trees , they will though, each day  begins to show a clearer picture, of the agenda.Honestly the best way is to listen to both sides of the issue, make your own mind up, I google differant things to get an idea,am not too fluent and I want to see what both sides have to say,, I am glad for instance that OBama  has come out ,if only through his defence Secretary and taken a hard line with N Korea, he seems to want to placate all the problem people we have in the world and the world then perceives us as weak.,we can still be strong without going the Way we went in Iraq .. England has come out and said that we should , say No to the Nationalised health care, I have relatives there waiting months for treatment and surgery.LOL I thought this thread was done......
