Are Any Of You Going to Go to Any Tea Parties on the 15th?
There will be lots of Tea Parties on April 15th. I know I will be going to one near me, I am excited to see how it goes. How about you? What are your thoughts?

I've read about the fair tax before. I support whatever works and I also support what Obama is now promising... to make our taxes more simple.

What Are Tax Day Tea Parties Protesting?
About these tax-day tea parties: It's obviously fine if citizens want to exercise their first amendment rights and hold protests. Admirable, even. And if these protests are underwritten by corporate backers or supported by various media organizations (there seems to be some debate about this), that's OK too. First Amendment rights all round!
But what I don't understand is why these rallies are being held to protest, among other things, "higher taxes." (Higher spending is another matter.) There is a widespread perception that Obama is raising taxes willy nilly, so maybe this is worth clearing up.

Maybe our generation needs to look at finances as your grandparents or in some cases great grandparents did during the great depression. Buy what you can afford to pay for and save for a rainy day.
This great country and the majority of its people have taken an “I want it now because I am entitled” mentality that lead to laws being changed to allow people that were not credit worthy to get loans for houses they could not afford. Which lead to unscrupulous Executives taking advantage of them. It has also lead to so many of us buying things like cars, boats and toys that we could not pay for, but credit was easy so we could always “pay for it tomorrow”. The day of reckoning has come for us and if our leaders take the same approach with frivolous spending and that cost is passed on to our children then someday they will be facing the same thing we are.
I do think that a stimulus package needs to be passed but it should be something that encourages real growth in small business and supports the people that are willing to do what it takes to bring real jobs back to the US.
Taxes should be paid fairly by all that can afford them, which does not mean that the top 5% should be taxed so the bottom 50% pays very little, nothing or makes money by not trying to get ahead. I support the FAIR TAX, learn about it and you will see how it is truly fair to all and those here that are illegal and soaking up our tax dollars will also pay. However those that are citizens will not pay taxes on items needed for basic living.

Will do, I am excited about it, but a little nervous too. I received an e-mail from the organizer of this particular one, and I hear there will be people from ACORN there as well as La Raza. This could prove to be most interesting. He told us not to sign any petitions except the two that would be on a special table.
