oh brother I go through these cameras I have at least 4 that are not working it has been better to buy new rather than repairing but I think prices of everything will go up soon so repairing may be a cheaper option ..
interesting....perhaps a flaw in the design?
although when I look thru the LCD while taking the pic it looks perfect, than just prints out a half pic.....I did notice some odd colors on the display when first turning it on tho, so I don't think its my printer I do think its the camera...
Will have to do some research see whats avail and prices...may have to be my Christmas present??
The A95... a great camera!
The thing is... if you were to buy a well used, fully functional A95 today, it would cost you in the $50- $75 range... whereas, a camera repairman wouldn't even open a camera up for less than $100...and, that's only to find the problem... not fix it!
So, if you're happy with the A95 features... it would cost less to replace it with a good used one. Coincidentally, I handled an A95 a couple of weeks ago... it was in immaculate condition, only the LDC display showed snowed out images.
yes I am thinking the same about the high cost of repairs and the time to send away and return.
I have an A95 power shot, so its a bit behind the times, did take good pics.
I'll have to do some research to see the new features. I too like the point and shoot features....I'm not an experienced photograher.
didn't know LCD screens could die??
Because of the extremely high cost(s) of camera repairs... especially, digital... I find that it makes more financial sense to replace rather than fix a malfunctioning camera. I prefer the Canon PowerShots. I have the A550, an A650 and an A720 in the PowerShot series but, I'm currently suffering from "camera fever" and I'm shopping for another PowerShot... I'm debating between a G11 that seems to have everything, including an articulating LCD screen or the sleek, ultra lightweight S90. Both are high end point & shoots that incorporate two of my favorite features... close up and wide angle.
I suspect that your LCD screen is dying and that's why you're seeing partial images
