Need some excuses to call out from work

What's a good excuse to use to get out of work for a couple of days?  I don't like to wish sickness on family members so it's kinda hard to come up with something.  I just want some time to relax and get some things done around the house next week and I didn't schedule it ahead of time.  I absolutely HATE calling out sick.  I feel guilty when I really am sick and I always think the boss thinks I'm lying so I barely call out sick.

Anybody got any good ones to get off a couple of days ahead of time?  I already used the water heater repair excuse and that got me one day off.

Get sick while you're at work!!! Get a really bad toothache or bellyache,act a like your're in pain!!

LOL!!  You all are hilarious!!  And I've been on the job for a VERY long time but we have to request our vacation days months ahead of time for approval.  If it's not approved ahead of time it's considered emergency leave or whatever and you have to ask them if it's okay and it kinda looks bad on your record for having a lot of "unscheduled" leave.

Oh boy!  These are all good excuses.  I think the family issue thing is a good idea since it's partly true anyway.  If I don't get these things done around the house then there WILL be some serious family issues LOL.  And I like saying that I'm not feeling well.  It doesn't mean you're sick but when you're exhausted you're not feeling well so you're not lying.  The excuses I don't use this time I I'll save for the next time.

it depends,  if your not a close bunch of people who know each others lives, just say, I had some family issues come up I have to deal with. its true!!! I hate to call in and lie, I believe in karma, and I dont need nothing coming back to bite me in the A$$.. or if you are a close bunch just go to your boss, tell him/her, I am soo overwhelmed I need some time off to just chill.

I would just say you're not feeling well. I hardly ever call in sick, either, so when I do it's because I really AM sick or just exhausted and need a day off. Either way I'm not really lying by saying I'm not feeling well. I've had to call in a couple of times because my kids were sick too. One time I had to take my daughter to the ER because she hurt herself in PE. Granted, my husband could have taken her but I wanted to.
I don't know. I'm probably not much help! That's the best I could come up with!
