Graduation Parties

well, its that time of year again. we have had weekends in past grad party seasons , in which we had 5 parties on one weekend. This year it is my familys turn, my eldest son just graduated high school. We invited a ton of people and its costing us a arm and a leg,

Times have sure changed at my Graduation party my parents bought a keg for me and my friends, we had a lot of drunken kids. would not dream of that today,

I am concerned that with the economy being what it is that my son will not get what other kids have gotten in the past. I know this sounds selfish. I just want him to get back a chunk of what we have given in the past.

Anyways, anyone got some fond graduation memories to share?

the highlight of my party was the next am, my Dad found a pair of nylons in the bushes infront of the house, he was not happy with that.

We're doing a family/friends open house BBQ the Sun after graduation.  Going to make some of the food and have some catered. She's put together  a beuitful disc of music + photos of herself through the years with family and friends . it can make you cry.  She also is making a collague for free at Vistprint.com (since we've ordered before they are offering it free as a promo) it will be a poster of her thru the years for her friends to sign.

We also got the m&M's made up and bought from e-bay votive candles and holders from Walmart and will do something with the fine lace as give-aways .. she's going to make graduation stickers for the glass votives with her name or something like that .. we went to orientaltrading.com and got mini tassles

You can be creative and save tons of $$

My High School Graduation Party was held at my Local Church and we, my Mom and her Boyfriend as well as myself, invited several of my family members. I was a little upset though because only a few of those invited came. :(

We had Spaghetti and Meatballs as well as Chicken Parmesan as main dishes while we had some of my Graduation Cake for Dessert.

We had a Party Game called Mad Gab.

"Jog Clay Die Scream" was one of the things you had to decipher in the game by listening to it very closely when it was being pronounced by the other player.

The "Jog Clay Die Scream" means Chocolate Ice Cream when deciphered.

My Graduation Party was fun though!!!!! :) :) :)

I never had a graduation party. My parents took me out for a nice dinner and on another night I went out with friends but no specific party.
Also, my oldest didn't want a party. I asked him and he didn't seem to care so we took him out to a restaurant of his choice and it was nice. My daughter will graduate next year so we'll see what she wants.
I don't think kids have to have the best of everything. I think you can still make it nice without spending a fortune. Just like when they get married, you don't have to go into debt to have a nice wedding. You learn little ways to cut costs. The most important thing is that they are with the people who love them and are proud to share their accomplishments.

i remember my graduation party. i can't believe it's been 6 years. *sigh* but there was 2 kegs ("not" for the kids but for the adults) and smirnoff ice colors (those were for me and bff's). TONS of food and people. i don't even remember the presents. i wasn't even really concerned about those. i was just happy to be done with school and celebrating with all of my friends and family. it went from about noon till 11 or 12 at night. we did have dd's. the party was at a park (the only time i remember my mom getting along with my dads 2nd wife.....of course she was semi intoxicated....) so the friends just went back to my house and crashed. ohhhhh fun times fun times.

our graduatiion party we had 15 16 gallon kegs, our class had about 200 kids in it and there was about 400 people at the party, it was held at a farm of one of the girls in our class, hr father locked the gate and took our keys we could not leave untill the next day. back then, the drinking age was 18 here in Maryland. times have changed today couldn't have a party like that
